小馬寶莉 (also known as 小馬寶莉:友情就是魔法) is one of several Cantonese dubs of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. This is the first Cantonese dub of the series. It was first released on DVDs of the show in Hong Kong sometime in 2012. These DVDs were distributed by InnoKidz, a subsidiary of InnoForm Media, which also featured English audio.
These episodes were later hosted out-of-order on a Hasbro-owned Hong Kong YouTube channel (who had previously hosted four episodes of the succeeding 2014 dub), beginning with the episode "The Cutie Mark Chronicles"[1] from February 1, 2015 to April 19, 2016.[2] Only the first season at this time was dubbed.
The dub premiered on ViuTV in Hong Kong on March 31, 2016.[3] The channel broadcast a slightly modified version of the dub, that featured differently translated lines in certain scenes that were re-recorded. From this point onward, the other eight seasons of the series would begin to be dubbed with the same production crew. This dub completed its run on August 22, 2020.

Broadcast[]
小馬寶莉 (under the title 小馬寶莉:友情就是魔法) premiered on now Hong Kong in Hong Kong on May 5, 2015[5][6], being the first Hong Kong TV channel to air the show. It is likely that the version present on DVD had aired on the network. Season 2 aired on the channel in June 2017.[7]
The first season of the dub was initially released through DVDs distributed by InnoKidz; Once the season began airing in 2016 on ViuTV, the dub was modified with certain lines being redubbed by the same voice actors. The dub would continue from the second season onwards, with episodes premiering exclusively on the channel.
This dub also airs on TVB Jade starting January 27, 2018.[8]
Release[]
Episodes of the dub are made available to stream through Now Player, with English audio provided as well.
On July 16, 2021, the official Cantonese My Little Pony YouTube channel began uploading full episodes of this dub, including the remastered ViuTV version of the season 1 episodes.[9]

Notes[]
- Winnie Chow (周文瑛), the actress who plays Twilight Sparkle, would later voice both Rarity and Spike in the shortlived 2014 redub.
- Unlike the 2014 dub, all of the songs are undubbed from the original English version (with Cantonese subtitles on ViuTV).
- This is with the sole exception of the opening theme, which was only used in season 1 of the ViuTV re-release; the opening theme was left undubbed in seasons 2 onward. This theme is uniquely cut from a music video of the extended theme, and was performed by Lily Hong and Celine Yeung.[10]
